Universitatea de Medicină şi Farmacie „Iuliu Haţieganu” Cluj-Napoca va acorda titlul de Doctor Honoris Causa prof. George Vithoulkas, International Academy of Classical Homeopathy, Alonissos, Grecia.
Prof. Vithoulkas s-a luptat, printre altele, pentru restabilirea credibilității homeopatiei prin denunțarea a ceea ce consideră a fi șarlatanii realizate de unii terapeuți homeopați, precum și de găsirea unei soluții pentru testarea controlată a eficienței tratamentelor homeopate.
Într-un dialog pe tema plauzibilității homeopatiei scria:
We share Walach’s interest in and hope for elucidation of a plausible homeopathic mechanism. However, we believe this is, and will remain, elusive for the foreseeable future. Till then, would Walach have us sit around and wait? We contend that those same purported interferences against which Walach warns could interfere equally with any other trial model. How can we know? (…) Indeed, much of the beauty and power of homeopathy comes to bear in the homeopathic interview.
